There were some giant impressive sand dunes across the harbour about a k or so away. They were absolutely massive, didn't know sand dunes could get so big. Some of them must of peaked 300m above sea level.
A local sailor offered trips across to the dunes where you paid him the money, he'd drop you of with a sandboard and you could stay for as long as you like and he would pick you up later.
I made a big mistake by leaving my phone in my pocket of my shorts for the first 2 runs, I came flying down the 30 metre slope and skimming across the water for 5 metres or so. I realised after my second run I had my mobile phone in my pocket so that was a rightoff drenched in saltwater. I attempted to dry it out in the baking hot sun but I was being very optomistic.
It ruined the day really I was so pissed of withmyself for doing such a stupid thing.
The Sandboarding was pretty good fun and I had some good runs, it was pretty hard work trynna clamber back up the dune again after each run but the enjoyment factor was ruined by killing my phone. Doh!
